Quotes

»Herein lies the secret of Luis Murschetz’ strength – with his deadly accurate pen, he succeeds in letting impressions take shape, which then suddenly turn into insights. In the perception of the observer, these insights congeal into fragments of a great avowal, whose ulterior motive is enlightenment. A sanguine melancholic, an apocalyptical idyllist, a naïve intellectual. His oeuvre of drawings proffers a surely unparalleled wealth of ideas, as well as technical mastery, in which there is no room for bungling. These two characteristics seem virtually old-fashioned in an age in which we persuade ourselves that nothing is truer than mere appearance. Within his ink pot lies the harvest of an entire era, which still needs to be gathered.«Süddeutsche Zeitung
